UK Schools Ban "Best Friends"

According UK's The Sun, in some elementary schools, "Teachers are banning schoolkids from having best pals — so they don't get upset by fall-outs."

So they can, what? Learn that close, personal relationships are bad? Can't wait to see how these kids fare in committed romance later in life. But I do suppose that would make Mother Government much more important in their lives. It's a Brave New World, indead.

Sarah, agree that this is far scarier than it seems at first blush. The cluelessness of the the school system regarding child development is also scary.

I read about this many months ago. I think it comes from some psychologists. Its a direct attack on personal values and the self-interest of the child. Disgusting and at the same time not surprising in an age that denigrates everything personal.
